Scanning Mirror Device Using the Transformation
of a Liquid Driven by Controlling the Wettability Index

We propose a scanning mirror device using a liquid. The mirror is moved by the transformation of the liquid. To change the shape of the liquid, we used electrowetting force. When a voltage is applied on electrodes on the plate, the wettability of the plate decreases. Therefore, the liquid is transformed and the angle of the mirror is changed. Using this scanning mirror device, a pan/tilt function of a camera was achieved. When 100[V] was applied, the field of view of a camera was changed by 20[degree]. We verified that the scanning mirror was also applicable to SPR(surface plasmon resonance) sensor.
